Crews battle house fire in Twin Falls

A residential fire on Alvarado Street in Twin Falls drew a large emergency response Sunday evening, leaving one occupant hospitalized and the home with extensive damage.

The first call came in at approximately 6:15 p.m., reporting a structure fire at 1740 Alvarado Street. All three Twin Falls Fire Department engines responded, along with an additional engine from Rock Creek Fire, according to Battalion Chief Joe Miller.

One Hospitalized, Home Heavily Damaged

Magic Valley Paramedics transported one resident to the hospital. The nature of the injuries was not immediately disclosed. A second ambulance was called to the scene as a precautionary standby measure.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the single structure, preventing spread to neighboring properties, though the home sustained significant damage. Idaho Power and Intermountain Gas personnel also assisted at the scene. The road in the area was temporarily closed before being reopened to traffic.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Crews were still on scene Sunday evening as officials worked to determine the origin of the blaze.

What Comes Next

Twin Falls Fire and relevant authorities will continue their investigation into the cause of the fire. No additional information on the hospitalized resident’s condition has been released. Updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
