Two Vehicle Fatality Crash Near Filer

Motorcyclist Killed After Collision with Pickup Truck Near Filer on US30

A Twin Falls man died Thursday evening after his motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck attempting to cross US Highway 30 east of Filer, according to the Idaho State Police.

The crash occurred around 5:25 p.m. on May 15 at milepost 214 along eastbound US30. A 39-year-old Twin Falls man was riding a 2013 Harley-Davidson westbound on the highway when a 49-year-old Twin Falls man driving a 2017 Nissan Frontier pulled southbound from E 2600 N and attempted to cross the highway. The motorcycle struck the side of the pickup.

The motorcyclist was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. This is the second fatal motorcycle crash near Filer in recent days.

Driver Taken Into Custody

The Nissan’s driver, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, was not transported from the scene. After being medically evaluated at a local hospital, he was taken into custody. The circumstances prompting the arrest remain under investigation.

Idaho State Police received assistance from the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, Filer Fire Department, and Magic Valley Paramedics. The crash remains an open investigation by ISP District 4, which covers Twin Falls and surrounding Magic Valley counties.
