Gas at the Walmart station on North Washington Street in Twin Falls fell 84 cents per gallon over four weeks, reaching $4.25.9 by Wednesday morning.
The station’s price had been just under $5.10 a gallon four weeks earlier. A Maverick station on Blue Lakes Boulevard listed a cash price of $4.23.9 a gallon Tuesday.
Those prices remain well below predictions made since the end of February that fuel could reach $8 to $10 per gallon.
Brent Reinke said he personally saw big rigs traveling more slowly on the Interstate to conserve fuel. The cost of shipping oil across the oceans quadrupled over the past year, while that increase does not apply to pipelines in North America.
