Twin Falls County election officials will open their ballot-counting equipment to public scrutiny this week. Staff members are scheduled to conduct a Logic and Accuracy test on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 2:30 p.m. The event takes place in the first-floor counting room at Twin Falls County West, located at 630 Addison Ave. West.
The procedure is designed to verify that voting machines are functioning correctly before ballots are cast. Residents are invited to attend the session to observe the testing process and ask questions of election staff. The public demonstration offers a transparent look at how votes will be tallied during the upcoming election.
Early Voting Schedule
Following the machine inspection, early voting begins on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Voters can cast their ballots at the Early Voting Office, also situated on the first floor of Twin Falls County West. The office will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, until Oct. 30.
Residents who have not yet registered to vote have until Oct. 23 to pre-register. Eligible individuals may complete registration and cast their ballot during the early voting period or on Election Day itself.
Voter Requirements
To participate in the election, voters must meet specific qualifications established by state law. Individuals must be U.S. citizens and at least 18 years old. They must also have resided in Idaho and Twin Falls County for a minimum of 30 days prior to Election Day.
Identification requirements vary depending on registration status. Registered voters must present approved identification when voting. Those unable to provide ID may complete an affidavit instead. New registrants are required to show approved photo identification. If the address on the photo ID differs from the voter’s registered residence, proof of residence is also mandatory.
