Motorcycle crash on Rock Creek Road sends two to hospital by air

A motorcycle crash in the Hansen area left two people seriously injured and required air ambulance transport late Friday evening, according to the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred around 8:22 p.m. on May 23 near Rock Creek Road, after Cassia County authorities requested assistance from Twin Falls County deputies. Both patrol and additional units responded to the scene.

The motorcycle’s rider, a 52-year-old man, and his passenger, a 47-year-old woman, were both flown from the scene aboard Air St. Luke’s. Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Stewart confirmed that both individuals were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. No information on their current conditions was made available, and no further details about the cause of the crash have been released.

Air Transport Response

Air St. Luke’s, the aerial medical service operated out of St. Luke’s Magic Valley, provides emergency transport for serious trauma cases across the region. Its deployment at the scene indicates the injuries sustained were significant enough to require rapid transfer to a trauma-capable facility.

The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of those involved or indicated whether additional agencies are assisting with the investigation.

A Reminder of Regional Safety Concerns

The crash comes amid a period of heightened public safety activity in Twin Falls County. Residents have followed several recent incidents closely, including a shooting and chase that led to a shelter-in-place order and subsequent criminal charges, as well as a drowning at Dierkes Lake Park that claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy.

What Comes Next

The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office is expected to release additional information as the investigation progresses. Anyone with information about the crash on Rock Creek Road is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office directly.
