Firefighters successfully halted the advance of the Moore Fire Saturday evening after the blaze broke out along South Swan Falls Road in Ada County, Idaho.
Crews were first dispatched to the scene Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:30 p.m. The response included two overhead personnel, four engines, two dozers, two fire investigators, and one water tender working to bring the fire under control before nightfall.
Road Reopened, Public Safe
Swan Falls Road, which had been closed during firefighting operations, was reopened to traffic by Saturday night. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that visitors and recreationists in the Swan Falls area were not in the active fire zone and were considered safe.
Residents and travelers in the surrounding area may still notice smoke visible in the sky as crews continue monitoring the burn area following containment efforts.
The Moore Fire is the latest public safety incident to draw emergency resources in the region. Twin Falls County has also seen recent emergencies, including the death of a 12-year-old boy who went underwater at Dierkes Lake Park in Twin Falls, as well as a shooting and chase that prompted a shelter-in-place order and led to criminal charges against a suspect.
No injuries were reported in connection with the Moore Fire. Officials have not yet released information on the cause of the blaze or estimated containment percentages as of Saturday night.
