Road Reopened, Public Safe
Swan Falls Road, which had been closed during firefighting operations, was reopened Saturday night once crews gained control of the situation. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that visitors and recreationists in the Swan Falls area were not in the active fire zone and are considered safe.
Residents and travelers in the region may still notice smoke visible in the surrounding area as crews continue monitoring the fire.
Fire Season Concerns in the Magic Valley Region
The Moore Fire is one of several public safety incidents drawing attention across southern Idaho in recent weeks. Twin Falls County has also seen other emergencies this season, including the death of a 12-year-old boy who went underwater at Dierkes Lake Park in Twin Falls and a shooting and chase that triggered a shelter-in-place order and resulted in criminal charges.
What Comes Next
Fire investigators assigned to the Moore Fire will work to determine the cause of the blaze. Officials have not yet released an estimate of total acreage burned or confirmed full containment. Residents near the Swan Falls corridor should remain alert to any smoke conditions and follow updates from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office regarding road access and fire status.
