Twin Falls’ Centennial Park boat ramp has resumed normal operations after a vehicle recovery effort earlier this week resolved an incident that temporarily shut down the facility.
On July 17, a man loading his boat onto a trailer at the ramp experienced brake failure, causing the truck and trailer—along with the boat—to enter the water. According to Lori Stewart of the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, “a man had just loaded his boat onto the trailer when the truck’s brakes failed at the ramp.”
The driver escaped injury and was not inside the vehicle when it became submerged. “The driver was not injured and was not inside the truck when it went into the water,” said Todd Rudner, a retired sergeant with the Kimberly-Hansen Police Department.
Marky’s Tow responded and successfully recovered the truck, trailer, and boat from the water. Park officials temporarily closed the boat ramp and docks following the incident to allow for the recovery operation and to ensure the facility was safe for public use.
The ramp has since reopened, and Twin Falls residents and visitors can again access the popular launching point at Centennial Park on the Snake River.
