Authorities investigating incident at Perrine Bridge

Emergency crews from multiple Twin Falls County agencies responded Tuesday evening after a person was discovered floating in the Snake River below the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Investigators are working to determine whether the incident was accidental or a suicide. The Twin Falls Police Department, Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, Twin Falls Fire Department, Magic Valley Paramedics, and the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.

No additional details about the victim or the outcome of the response have been released as the investigation remains active.

The Perrine Bridge, which spans the Snake River Canyon at a height of more than 400 feet, has long been a focus of public safety concern in the region. Authorities have not indicated a timeline for when investigative findings will be made public.

The Snake River corridor in Twin Falls County has seen several water-related emergencies in recent months. A 12-year-old boy died after going underwater at Dierkes Lake Park, located near the canyon rim, earlier this spring — a reminder of the ongoing dangers the area’s waterways present to residents and visitors alike.

What Comes Next

Investigators from the Twin Falls Police Department and Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office are expected to release further details as the inquiry progresses. No additional information has been made available regarding the condition or identity of the individual recovered from the river. Residents with information relevant to the incident are encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
