Firefighters Stop Forward Progress of 1,500-Acre Moore Fire Near Swan Falls Road in Idaho
Firefighting crews successfully halted the forward spread of the Moore Fire Saturday evening after the blaze broke out in the afternoon along South Swan Falls Road in Ada County, Idaho.
Personnel were dispatched to the scene around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Resources deployed to the fire included two overhead personnel, four engines, two bulldozers, a water tender, and two fire investigators. Crews managed to stop the fire’s advance by that evening.
Road Reopened, Public Not in Danger
Swan Falls Road, which had been closed during firefighting operations, was reopened to traffic Saturday night. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that people recreating in the Swan Falls area were not in the active fire zone and were considered safe.
Smoke from the fire may remain visible across the surrounding area as crews continue their work. Residents and visitors are advised to remain aware of conditions in the region.
The Magic Valley area has seen other public safety incidents in recent weeks. A 12-year-old boy died after going underwater at Dierkes Lake Park in Twin Falls, drawing attention to water safety along the Snake River Canyon corridor.
