Crews working to contain the 1,500 acre Moore Fire off South Swan Falls Road

Firefighting crews halted the forward spread of the Moore Fire near South Swan Falls Road on Saturday, bringing the roughly 1,500-acre blaze under control by evening after it broke out in the early afternoon.

Personnel were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:30 p.m. The response included two overhead personnel, four engines, two dozers, a water tender, and two fire investigators working to stop the fire’s advance.

Road Reopened, Public Not in Danger

The Ada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Swan Falls Road, which had been closed during firefighting operations, has since reopened to traffic. Officials also stated that people recreating in the Swan Falls area are not within the active fire zone and are considered safe.

Smoke may remain visible across the surrounding area as crews continue monitoring the scene.

What Comes Next

Fire investigators assigned to the incident are expected to work to determine the cause of the blaze. Residents and visitors to the Swan Falls area should remain aware of possible lingering smoke and follow any guidance issued by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. No injuries have been reported in connection with the Moore Fire at this time.
