Crews working to contain the 1,500 acre Moore Fire off South Swan Falls Road

Firefighters successfully halted the advance of the Moore Fire Saturday evening after the blaze broke out along South Swan Falls Road in the Swan Falls area of Ada County. Crews were first dispatched to the scene around 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

The response included a significant deployment of firefighting resources: two overhead personnel, four engines, two dozers, a water tender, and two fire investigators. The combined effort proved effective, with crews stopping the fire’s spread before the end of the evening.

Road Reopened, Public Safe

Swan Falls Road, which had been affected during the firefighting operation, was reopened to the public Saturday night. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that individuals recreating in the Swan Falls area were not in danger and remained outside the active fire zone.

Residents and visitors in the surrounding region are advised that smoke may remain visible in the area as crews continue to monitor the scene.

The Moore Fire is the latest in a series of recent public safety incidents drawing emergency response resources across the Magic Valley and surrounding counties. Earlier this month, Twin Falls County emergency crews also responded to a drowning at Dierkes Lake Park, where a 12-year-old boy died after going underwater at the popular recreation site.

What Comes Next

Fire investigators assigned to the scene will work to determine the cause of the blaze. Officials have not yet announced a full containment figure or an estimated timeline for complete suppression. Residents near the Swan Falls corridor are encouraged to monitor updates from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and avoid the area until authorities confirm the fire is fully contained. Smoke visibility in the broader region may continue in the coming days depending on wind conditions.
