Twin Falls Trailer Fire Leaves Occupant Hospitalized, Dog Dead

Wildfire smoke over a valley

A fast-moving fire destroyed a trailer at Cameo Estates in Twin Falls on Sunday evening, leaving the occupant hospitalized and claiming the life of a pet dog.

The blaze broke out at approximately 5:40 p.m., with Rock Creek Fire District crews arriving on scene in under three minutes. Despite the rapid response, the trailer was already fully engulfed upon their arrival. Fire Chief Mitchell Brooks said crews brought the fire under control quickly: “The fire was put out in 10 minutes.”

Twin Falls police and Magic Valley Paramedics also responded to the scene. The occupant of the trailer managed to escape before crews arrived but was taken to a local medical facility for treatment of smoke inhalation. A dog belonging to the occupant did not survive.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
