Twin Falls Tattoo Studio Marks Idaho Statehood With Limited-Time Flash Event

Legacy Tattoo Studio in Twin Falls capitalized on Idaho’s 136th statehood day by hosting a flash tattoo event on July 3, offering customers a quick and affordable way to commemorate their connection to the state with permanent ink.

The flash event featured pre-designed Idaho-themed tattoo options available at reduced prices compared to standard appointments, with no need for advance booking. Customers completed their designs in approximately 20 minutes—a fraction of the time typical tattoo appointments require. Standard tattoo sessions typically run a couple of hours and cost over $100.

Quick Designs, Lasting Tribute

The shop offered several recognizable Idaho imagery options, including mountain ranges, potatoes, cowboys, and the state outline. A Napoleon Dynamite design—a nod to the famous 1990s film shot in Idaho—was also available for an additional fee. To maintain quality and safety, the flash event limited placements to arms and legs only.

Artists Ben Jones and Hannah Arthur facilitated the event, tapping into local pride and the significance of Idaho’s founding date. “We figured out that Idaho was founded on July 3, so we are doing a July 3, which is all Idaho themed,” Jones explained, underscoring the studio’s intent to honor the state’s history while offering customers an accessible commemorative option.

Early Participants Share Their Stories

Among the first customers was Jeff Horton, 38, a lifelong Idaho resident. Horton chose to memorialize his deep roots in the state with permanent body art. “I’m 38, been living here my whole life. So Idaho’s home. So I wanted something that was permanent commemorate me living in Idaho,” he said.

Kayla Michalios, another participant, selected a mountain range design for her tattoo. The event marked both her first flash tattoo experience and her initial visit to Legacy Tattoo Studio, suggesting the shop’s promotional approach successfully drew new customers alongside established patrons celebrating the state.

Community Pride in Ink

The flash event reflects a broader pattern of Twin Falls residents embracing opportunities to celebrate Idaho identity. Earlier this year, the community marked the nation’s 250th birthday with Fourth of July fireworks at College of Southern Idaho, while Eden dedicated a memorial honoring 600 area veterans. Such occasions give residents tangible ways to express civic and regional pride.

Flash tattoo events—limited-time offerings with pre-designed artwork at lower prices—have become popular across the tattoo industry as a means to introduce new customers to shops while generating business during strategic promotional windows. Legacy Tattoo Studio’s decision to align the event with Idaho’s founding date made the commercial opportunity feel like a genuine celebration of state heritage rather than purely transactional.

What Comes Next

Legacy Tattoo Studio has not announced whether the Idaho-themed flash event will become an annual occurrence on or around July 3. The success of this year’s promotion—marked by strong early participation and positive customer feedback—may influence the shop’s decision to repeat the offering in future years. For Twin Falls residents interested in state-themed tattoos or those seeking an affordable entry point into body art, the studio’s regular appointment services remain available for custom designs beyond the flash event’s preset options.
