A 39-year-old Twin Falls man died Thursday evening after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on US Highway 30 east of Filer, according to the Idaho State Police.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. on May 15 at milepost 214 on the eastbound section of US-30. Investigators said the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on a 2013 Harley-Davidson when a 2017 Nissan Frontier, driven by a 49-year-old Twin Falls man, attempted to cross the highway from E 2600 N traveling southbound.
The motorcycle struck the side of the pickup during the crossing attempt, authorities reported. Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist by ground ambulance to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Driver Taken Into Custody
The driver of the Nissan Frontier was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and did not require medical transport, according to Idaho State Police. He was medically evaluated at a local hospital and cleared before being taken into custody by law enforcement.
Authorities have not released the names of either individual involved in the collision, and no charges have been announced as of Friday morning.

The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, Filer Fire Department, and Magic Valley Paramedics assisted Idaho State Police at the crash scene. The highway remained partially closed for several hours Thursday evening as investigators documented the collision and cleared the roadway.
Idaho State Police District 4, which serves eight southern Idaho counties including Twin Falls, is leading the ongoing investigation. The agency said additional details will be released as the investigation progresses.
