The fire broke out at a home located at 1740 Alvarado Street, with the initial call received by dispatch at approximately 6:15 p.m., according to Battalion Chief Joe Miller of the Twin Falls Fire Department.

Multi-Agency Response

The incident drew a significant emergency response from multiple agencies across the Magic Valley. Twin Falls Fire dispatched all three of its available engines to the scene, while Rock Creek Fire contributed an additional engine to support firefighting efforts.

Fire Contained to Single Structure

Firefighters working the incident reported that the blaze caused extensive damage to the residence. However, crews were able to successfully contain the fire to the single home, preventing the flames from spreading to neighboring properties.

The roadway near the fire scene was temporarily closed to facilitate emergency operations but was reopened to traffic later in the evening after crews completed their initial work.

Idaho Power and Intermountain Gas personnel also responded to the location to assist with utility-related concerns during the firefighting effort.

What Comes Next

Fire officials remained at the scene Sunday evening conducting overhaul operations and ensuring no hot spots remained that could reignite. The cause of the fire has not been determined and remains under active investigation by the Twin Falls Fire Department.

No information has been released regarding whether the home was occupied at the time the fire started or how many residents were inside the structure. The identity of the injured resident has not been disclosed.

Investigators will work to determine the origin point of the blaze and what factors may have contributed to the fire’s ignition and spread through the home.
