Two Bruins Athletes Commit to College Programs
Two seniors from Twin Falls High School’s cheerleading squad have signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level, officials announced Wednesday.
Elly Huntsman will join the cheerleading program at Idaho State University in Pocatello beginning this fall. Madison Simson has committed to cheer for the College of Southern Idaho, keeping her athletic career in Twin Falls County.
Twin Falls High School Athletic Director Shaun Walker recognized both athletes for their leadership throughout the 2025-2026 school year. Walker noted the seniors were consistently the first to arrive at school events and set a strong example for younger members of the cheerleading squad.
Four Years with the Bruins
Both Huntsman and Simson completed four seasons with the Twin Falls High School Bruins cheer program. Their commitment to the program included supporting football, basketball, and other school athletics throughout their high school careers.
The College of Southern Idaho’s cheer program competes at the junior college level and supports CSI’s Golden Eagles athletic teams. Idaho State University’s cheer squad performs at Big Sky Conference events and supports the Bengals’ NCAA Division I athletics.
Growing Local Talent Pipeline
Simson’s decision to continue her education and athletic career at CSI keeps a Twin Falls County athlete in the local college system. The College of Southern Idaho campus sits just minutes from Twin Falls High School on Falls Avenue.
For Huntsman, the move to Idaho State University represents an opportunity to cheer at the NCAA Division I level. ISU’s athletic programs compete in football, basketball, track and field, and other sports across the Big Sky Conference.
What Comes Next
Both athletes are expected to report to their respective programs in August ahead of the fall 2026 semester. They will participate in training camp and prepare for the upcoming collegiate athletic season. College of Southern Idaho typically begins fall sports activities in mid-August, while Idaho State’s schedule follows a similar timeline for the start of football season and other fall sports.
