The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Harland Eugene Gothe, 50, a Twin Falls resident who was being sought on a charge of aggravated lewd conduct with a child younger than 12.
Gothe had been featured as the Sheriff’s Office weekly most wanted person prior to his arrest. “He is now in custody of the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office,” according to a statement from the agency, as first reported by the KMVT.
The arrest marks the conclusion of the active manhunt for the suspect. Details regarding the circumstances of the alleged offense and the investigation leading to Gothe’s apprehension have not been disclosed.
The charge of aggravated lewd conduct with a child is one of the most serious criminal allegations in Idaho’s code and carries significant potential penalties upon conviction.
Gothe remains in the custody of Twin Falls County authorities as the case moves forward through the criminal justice system.
What Comes Next: Gothe is expected to appear before a magistrate judge for initial appearance and bail determination. Court proceedings will determine whether charges are formally filed and set conditions for potential release or continued detention pending trial.
