Twin Falls County Democrats to Host Candidate Meet-and-Greet Monday

Open House Set for Federal and State Races

Twin Falls County Democrats will hold a candidate open house Monday evening at the Lamphouse Theatre, giving local voters a chance to meet Democratic candidates running for federal, statewide, and regional legislative seats.

The event runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lamphouse Theatre, located at 223 5th Avenue South in Twin Falls. Candidates seeking office in District 24 and District 25, along with those running for higher-level positions, are expected to attend.

Organizers say the gathering will allow community members to speak directly with candidates, ask questions about their positions, and learn what priorities they would pursue if elected to represent Idaho and the Magic Valley region in state or federal government.

Party Chair Emphasizes Voter Education

Don Morishita, chair of the Twin Falls County Democrats, said the open house offers voters an important opportunity to engage with candidates beyond simply casting a ballot based on party affiliation.

According to Morishita, understanding what candidates plan to accomplish once in office matters more than voting strictly along party lines. The event is designed to give voters a clearer picture of who is seeking their support and what those candidates stand for on issues affecting Idaho families and local communities.

What Comes Next

The candidate open house comes as Democrats prepare for the 2026 election cycle, which will include races for U.S. Senate, U.S. House, statewide constitutional offices, and seats in the Idaho Legislature. Primary elections in Idaho are scheduled for May 2026, with the general election following in November.

Residents interested in attending the Monday event can find the Lamphouse Theatre in downtown Twin Falls. The venue has hosted community gatherings and political events in the past and offers a central location for Magic Valley voters looking to engage with candidates ahead of the upcoming election season.
