Eastbound Lane Closed Following Tuesday Crash
A semi-truck struck a concrete barrier along Interstate 84 near Heyburn on Tuesday, blocking the eastbound lane of travel for multiple hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
The Idaho State Police is investigating the single-vehicle collision, which occurred around noon in a construction zone near mile marker 211 on eastbound I-84.
According to ISP, the semi-trailer was driven by a 33-year-old man from Jerome. The driver was traveling eastbound when he struck the concrete barrier, which blocked the eastbound lane and caused traffic delays in the area.
Driver Uninjured, Not Wearing Seat Belt
The driver was not injured in the crash, police said. Authorities noted that the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
Construction crews created an emergency lane on the right shoulder to move traffic through the area while the wreckage was cleared and the barrier was addressed.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police. No citations have been announced at this time.
