Kimberly Festival Celebrates Community with Parade, Food, and Music

Kimberly’s annual Good Neighbor Days festival returns this month with a full slate of free community activities, including a Saturday morning parade, live entertainment, food vendors, and a charity dinner benefiting a local nonprofit organization.

Organizers at Those Two Chicks Events, run by co-owners Aubrey Booth and Melanie Lunney, spent a year planning the celebration, which runs the second weekend in July under the theme “Freedom, Family, and Community.” The festival aligns with the America 250 commemorative year.

Opening Night and Charity Dinner

Friday evening kicks off with opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. at the Kimberly city park, featuring a dedication honoring military members. Immediately following, organizers will serve a charity barbecued pork nacho dinner at 6:30 p.m., with proceeds supporting QRU, a local nonprofit. Dinner tickets are priced at $7 per plate.

The evening entertainment includes an outdoor screening of “The Goonies” at dusk, keeping all Friday activities centered at the city park.

Saturday Parade and Vendor Showcase

The festival’s signature event, a Saturday parade, steps off at 10 a.m. with approximately 200 entries. Organizers did not require formal sign-up this year, allowing community groups and participants flexibility in marching or driving floats.

The festival grounds will feature 57 vendors and 15 food trucks offering a variety of goods and meals. Live music will be provided by three musical acts, plus a clogging group performing throughout the day.

Booth emphasized the value of a free, accessible community gathering. “It’s a free event. It’s a great community event. You just can’t find too much of that anymore,” she said. “Coming out just to enjoy the day, enjoy the music, enjoy the food, the vendors—it’s just something to get you out of the house.”

Additional Community Events

Running concurrently with the festival but organized independently are a high school fun run and a disc golf tournament, providing additional activities for families and participants of all ages.

Those planning to vendor at next year’s festival can submit applications beginning in January at thosetwochicksevents.com. Vendor registration for the current year has closed.

The festival follows other recent community celebrations in the Magic Valley, including Twin Falls’ Fourth of July festivities earlier in the month.

What Comes Next

Kimberly residents and visitors from across Twin Falls County should plan to attend Saturday’s parade and festivities. Those interested in participating as vendors or sponsors next year are encouraged to watch the Those Two Chicks Events website beginning in January for application details and requirements.
