Crews working to contain the 1,500 acre Moore Fire off South Swan Falls Road

Firefighting crews successfully halted the advance of the Moore Fire Saturday evening after the blaze broke out along South Swan Falls Road in Ada County, Idaho.

Personnel were dispatched to the scene around 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Resources deployed to fight the fire included two overhead personnel, four engines, two bulldozers, two fire investigators, and one water tender.

Road Reopened, Public Not in Danger

By Saturday night, Swan Falls Road had been reopened to traffic following the firefighting effort. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that visitors and recreators in the Swan Falls area were not in the active fire zone and remained safe.

Residents and travelers in the surrounding area may still notice smoke visible across the region as crews continue their work.

The Moore Fire is the latest public safety incident drawing attention in southern Idaho. Authorities and emergency responders across the Magic Valley and surrounding counties have remained active in recent weeks, responding to a range of emergencies. Earlier this month, Twin Falls County saw a shooting and vehicle pursuit that resulted in a shelter-in-place order, with the suspect now facing criminal charges.

What Comes Next

Fire investigators assigned to the scene will work to determine the origin and cause of the blaze. Containment efforts are expected to continue, and officials will monitor for any renewed fire activity in the area. Residents near Swan Falls Road are encouraged to stay aware of changing conditions and watch for updates from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
