A father and son from Burley are recovering and reflecting after being caught in the middle of a deadly mass shooting at a Twin Falls In-N-Out Burger drive-thru — and choosing to stay behind and help others get out even after gunfire erupted around them.
Paul and Jason Cannon were present when the shooting broke out, leaving three people dead and multiple others injured. Four people in total were shot, including Paul, who was struck in the abdomen and side and also sustained shrapnel wounds to his arm and back. Despite his injuries, Paul was treated and released and is currently recovering at home in Burley.
