Buhl police are investigating after a resident discovered what appeared to be bullet holes in their vehicle on August 28, 2026, following an overnight report of a suspicious car making repeated passes through a nearby intersection.
The Buhl Police Department received its first call around midnight, when a caller reported a white Ford Mustang circling the area of Maple Street and 14th Avenue North. By the time officers were notified, the Mustang had already left the area.
Early that same morning, just after 6:15 a.m., the resident contacted police again after finding what appeared to be bullet holes in their vehicle. Investigators responded and the case remains open.
Buhl police said they believe the incident was isolated and that there is no known ongoing threat to the public. No additional details about suspects or a motive have been released.
The investigation comes as Magic Valley communities have dealt with several recent incidents involving firearms. A shooting outside a Twin Falls In-N-Out restaurant left multiple families shaken, prompting widespread community response across the region.
