A significant infrastructure improvement project is set to get underway in Twin Falls this coming Monday, targeting a well-traveled stretch of U.S. Highway 30 along Kimberly Road.
Beginning June 22, crews will begin resurfacing work along Kimberly Road between Blue Lakes Boulevard and Eastland Drive. The project is expected to take approximately one year to complete.
What the Project Includes
The scope of work goes beyond simple pavement replacement. Contractors will also address roadway base improvements, upgrade traffic signals at the Blue Lakes Boulevard and Locust Street intersections, install ADA-compliant ramps, and make drainage improvements along the corridor.
The improvements reflect a more comprehensive approach to the aging roadway infrastructure, rather than a surface-level fix.
What Drivers Should Expect
Motorists traveling along Kimberly Road should plan for reduced lanes throughout the construction period, with traffic narrowed to one lane in each direction. Temporary closures are also anticipated on side streets that intersect Kimberly Road, so residents and commuters in the area should allow extra travel time and watch for detour signage.
The one-year timeline puts project completion sometime around mid-2027, meaning the disruptions will span multiple seasons and likely affect daily commuters, commercial traffic, and local businesses along the corridor.
What Comes Next
With the project launching Monday, Twin Falls drivers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with alternate routes along the Blue Lakes Boulevard and Eastland Drive area before construction activity ramps up. Updates on lane closures and intersection work are expected as crews progress through each phase of the project.
