Filer Resident Held on $300,000 Bond After High-Speed Chase Ends with Vehicle in Home

Downtown Boise, Idaho

A 25-year-old man is free on a $300,000 bond following a June 6 incident in which a vehicle pursuit through Twin Falls County ended with a car crashing into a residential structure near Filer.

Aldolfo Ramirez faces a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer in a motor vehicle after a Twin Falls County sheriff’s deputy responded to reports of a reckless driver in the area of Addison Avenue West and Martin Street. The driver was initially reported traveling near 90 mph.

Chase Reaches Triple-Digit Speeds

The deputy located a white BMW heading west on Highway 30 at 69 mph. When the deputy attempted to conduct a stop, the driver refused to yield. The vehicle accelerated past other cars and at times exceeded 100 mph during the pursuit.

The chase ended when the BMW left the roadway and struck a home near 4100 North and 2300 East. The collision caused smoke and debris, and the vehicle came to rest on its side at the rear of the structure. The deputy entered the home and confirmed the homeowner was inside.

Ramirez was taken into custody at the scene. Deputies noted he was uncooperative and smelled strongly of alcohol at the time of his arrest.

Court Appearance and Upcoming Hearing

Ramirez appeared before 5th District Court Judge Jennifer Bergin Monday morning at 8:15 a.m. Bond was set at $300,000. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for June 18.

The charge of fleeing or attempting to elude in a motor vehicle carries serious criminal penalties under Idaho law, particularly when the pursuit involves high speeds and results in property damage.

What Comes Next

Ramirez is scheduled to return to 5th District Court for a preliminary hearing on June 18, where prosecutors will present evidence to determine whether the case should proceed to trial. The homeowner whose residence was struck was located safely by the responding deputy. No further details on injuries or the extent of structural damage to the home were available in initial reporting. Twin Falls County residents with information relevant to the case are encouraged to contact the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office.
