Crews working to contain the 1,500 acre Moore Fire off South Swan Falls Road

Firefighting crews successfully halted the forward spread of the Moore Fire burning off South Swan Falls Road in Ada County on Saturday, bringing a measure of relief to residents and recreators in the area.

Personnel were dispatched to the scene Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:30 p.m. Resources deployed to the fire included two overhead personnel, four engines, two dozers, two fire investigators, and one water tender. By Saturday evening, crews had stopped the fire’s forward progress.

Road Reopened, Public Not in Danger

Swan Falls Road, which had been closed during firefighting operations, was reopened to traffic by Saturday night. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that individuals recreating in the Swan Falls area were not in the active fire zone and were considered safe.

Smoke from the blaze remains visible across parts of the surrounding area, and residents should expect reduced visibility in some locations. No injuries or structural damage were mentioned in available information.

Public safety remains a priority across Twin Falls County and the broader Magic Valley region this season. Residents are reminded to stay aware of changing fire conditions, particularly near recreational areas along the Snake River corridor. For other recent public safety news in the region, a Twin Falls County shooting suspect is now facing charges following a chase that led to a shelter-in-place order earlier this month.

What Comes Next

Fire investigators assigned to the scene are expected to work toward determining the cause of the blaze. Officials have not announced a final containment figure or an estimated timeline for full suppression. Residents and visitors near the Swan Falls area should continue to monitor conditions and follow any updated guidance from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and fire management personnel.
