Crews working to contain the 1,500 acre Moore Fire off South Swan Falls Road

Firefighting crews brought the Moore Fire under control Saturday evening after the blaze broke out in the afternoon along South Swan Falls Road in Ada County, Idaho.

Personnel were dispatched to the scene around 3:30 p.m. Resources deployed to the fire included two overhead personnel, four engines, two dozers, one water tender, and two fire investigators. By Saturday evening, crews had successfully halted the fire’s forward spread.

Road Reopened, Public Not in Danger

Swan Falls Road, which had been affected by the emergency response, was reopened to traffic Saturday night. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that visitors and recreators in the Swan Falls area were not in the active fire zone and remained safe throughout the incident.

Residents across the surrounding area may notice smoke still visible in the sky as crews continue to monitor the scene following containment.

No injuries were reported in connection with the fire. The cause of the blaze is under investigation, as indicated by the deployment of fire investigators to the scene.

The Swan Falls area along the Snake River is a popular destination for outdoor recreation in the Magic Valley region. Residents planning visits to the area are encouraged to remain aware of any updated road or access information from county officials.

What Comes Next

Fire crews and investigators will continue assessing the burned area to determine the cause of the fire and ensure full containment. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office is expected to provide additional updates as the situation develops. Residents should continue to monitor conditions, as smoke may remain visible in the area in the coming days.

For other recent public safety news in the region, Twin Falls County has seen a shooting and chase incident resulting in charges against a suspect following a shelter-in-place order earlier this month.
