Firefighters working a fast-moving blaze near South Swan Falls Road in Ada County managed to halt the forward progress of the Moore Fire Saturday evening, according to officials.
Crews were dispatched to the scene around 3:30 p.m. Saturday after the fire broke out in the Swan Falls area. The response included two overhead personnel, four engines, two bulldozers, a water tender, and two fire investigators working to bring the roughly 1,500-acre fire under control.
Road Reopened, Public Not in Danger
Swan Falls Road, which had been closed during firefighting operations, was reopened to the public Saturday night. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that visitors and recreators in the Swan Falls area were not in danger and remained outside the active fire zone.
Smoke from the fire remains visible across the surrounding area, officials noted.
