Road Reopened, Public Not in Danger
Swan Falls Road, which had been closed during firefighting operations, was reopened to traffic by Saturday night. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that people recreating in the Swan Falls area were not located within the active fire zone and were considered safe.
Smoke from the blaze remains visible across parts of the surrounding area, officials noted.
Fire Season Concerns Across the Region
The Moore Fire comes as warmer temperatures and dry conditions raise wildfire concerns throughout southern Idaho and the Magic Valley region. Residents near active recreation areas are urged to stay alert to fire activity and follow any instructions from law enforcement or fire officials.
Public safety incidents have kept Twin Falls County and surrounding area emergency responders busy in recent weeks. A Twin Falls shooting and chase that led to a shelter-in-place order recently resulted in criminal charges against the suspect involved.
Anyone in the Swan Falls area who observes smoke or fire activity is encouraged to contact the Ada County Sheriff’s Office or local fire authorities promptly.
What Comes Next
Fire investigators assigned to the scene will work to determine the origin and cause of the Moore Fire. Officials have not yet released an estimated containment figure or a projected full-containment timeline. Residents and outdoor enthusiasts in the area should monitor updates from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and local fire agencies as crews continue mop-up operations.
