CSI softball advances to national tournament

The College of Southern Idaho softball team punched its ticket to the national stage Thursday, defeating Salt Lake Community College 9-8 to claim the Region 18 championship and earn a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament in Oxford, Alabama.

The Golden Eagles were powered by a dominant performance from Maile Ha’o, who delivered a grand slam and a three-run home run in the victory. Ha’o’s efforts earned her Region 18 Tournament MVP honors.

Adi Hansen also had a standout game, going 4-for-5 at the plate and adding a stolen base. Emerson Fuller earned the win in the circle, working 4.2 innings and recording four strikeouts.

All-Tournament Recognition for Golden Eagles

In addition to Ha’o’s MVP award, four other CSI players earned spots on the Region 18 All-Tournament team: Rilyne Keck, Kyli Carrell, Emerson Fuller, and Adi Hansen. The recognition reflects a deep roster that carried the program to its national tournament appearance.

The NJCAA National Tournament is scheduled to begin May 25 in Oxford, Alabama.

The Golden Eagles’ postseason run is the latest sign of strength in CSI athletics. Twin Falls’ own Zack Auth recently signed with CSI for esports, reflecting the college’s growing athletic profile across multiple programs. Magic Valley fans looking to follow local competition this spring can also check in on area high school softball, where Kimberly recently faced Homedale in the State Regional series.
