A Twin Falls High School senior has secured a scholarship to compete in collegiate esports at the College of Southern Idaho, marking a milestone for the program in Twin Falls.
Kyler Auth will join CSI as a member of the school’s first-ever competitive esports team. The squad will compete in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the popular Nintendo fighting game that has become one of the most prominent titles in collegiate esports competition.
The signing represents a growing recognition of competitive gaming as a legitimate scholarship sport at the community college level. CSI’s launch of an esports program reflects a broader trend among Idaho colleges working to attract students with diverse competitive interests and career pathways in gaming, broadcasting, and technology.
Auth’s commitment adds to a strong spring signing season for Twin Falls student-athletes. Earlier this year, Twin Falls track star Brooklyn Gambrel also signed a collegiate scholarship, choosing the College of Idaho to continue her athletic career.
CSI has remained an active destination for Twin Falls County graduates across academics, athletics, and now competitive gaming. The college has served as a community hub for students throughout Magic Valley, including hosting student service projects involving the Twin Falls School District.

With CSI’s esports program now taking shape through signings like Auth’s, the college is expected to announce further details about the team’s inaugural competitive schedule.
