A 4-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle and airlifted to Boise late Monday night after being hit while crossing Pole Line Road near Costco in Twin Falls, Idaho.

The crash occurred around 10:40 p.m. in an area not designated as a crosswalk. The child had been crossing Pole Line Road with older siblings when an 18-year-old man driving westbound struck him. The boy’s injuries were not immediately known.

Air St. Luke’s transported the child to Boise for treatment. Twin Falls Police Department led the response, with assistance from Idaho State Police, the Twin Falls Fire Department, Magic Valley Paramedics, and Air St. Luke’s crews. Lanes along that stretch of Pole Line Road were closed for roughly three hours while investigators processed the scene.

The Twin Falls Police Department said the investigation remains ongoing. No charges or citations had been publicly announced as of this report.

Pole Line Road near the Costco location is a high-traffic commercial corridor, particularly during evening hours. The crash is a reminder of the dangers pedestrians face when crossing outside designated crosswalk areas along busy roadways. A Jerome County man received a 12-year prison sentence in a separate fatal Highway 93 crash that claimed two lives, underscoring the serious consequences that can result from vehicle-pedestrian and vehicle incidents in the Magic Valley area.

What Comes Next

Twin Falls Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Updates on the child’s condition and any potential charges against the driver had not been released at the time of this report. Residents are encouraged to use designated crosswalks when navigating busy commercial areas like Pole Line Road, especially after dark.
